Nude Naturel

Laura Mercier Nude Naturel Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème LipstickLaura Mercier Nude Naturel Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light pink with cooler undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage, which did not apply evenly and settled into my lip lines quite noticeably. The texture felt smooth, velvety, and thin, and while it didn’t feel clingy, it looked that way, which made it one of the least flattering shades to wear in the range. It stayed on for three and a half hours and felt non-drying.

Formula Overview

$32.00/0.12 oz. – $266.67 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have “high-impact color” with “weightless decadence” that “moisturizes and smooths.” The pigmentation was nearly opaque to opaque in a single layer, which applied smoothly and without tugging. The texture was lightly creamy but more velvety overall, so it glided easily over my lips but didn’t feel overly slippery.

The issue I had was that the formula didn’t seem particularly forgiving of natural lip texture or imperfections, so despite exfoliating prior to application, there were areas highlighted that I didn’t expect to see since the formula was supposed to be smoothing. It also settled a bit into deeper lip lines, which was more noticeable (in person, not just in the close-up photos) with lighter shades than brighter or deeper tones. They lasted between four and six hours on me and felt lightly hydrating.

Nude Nouveau

Laura Mercier Nude Nouveau Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème LipstickLaura Mercier Nude Nouveau Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light-medium coral with moderate, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff that adhered somewhat evenly, but it seemed more prone to catching on imperfections and separating along my lip lines. It didn’t look as bad from a normal distance, but there were many other shades in the range that were more flattering on my lips. It lasted for four hours and felt lightly hydrating while worn.

Nu Prefere

Laura Mercier Nu Prefere Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème LipstickLaura Mercier Nu Prefere Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium pink with moderate, warm undertones and a satin sheen. It had semi-opaque color coverage, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The texture was smooth and velvety, lightweight and thin but not clingy, though it separated slightly along my deeper lip lines and was more prone to emphasizing lip texture than some of the better-performing shades in the range. This shade wore decently for four hours and felt lightly moisturizing over time.
