This kitchen design pulls together traditional and contemporary elements to create an industrial rustic style. Painted white Shaker cabinets provide a neutral backdrop. Rustic touches include the beadboard ceiling, walk-in pantry, valance-trimmed open shelves and hardwood floor laid in a herringbone pattern. A large exposed beam supports the ceiling where a wall was removed. This created a spacious, expansive kitchen and dining area. Industrial elements include the pendant lights over the large central island, steel bar stools and commercial-sized stainless refrigerator.
The large space is light and bright, with a wall of windows and doors to the adjacent deck. The space is also opened up by an arched door leading to the entry and staircase. Ambient lighting is provided by recessed ceiling fixtures, feature lighting includes in-cabinet lighting over the pantry entrance. Tiled inset patterns set off the hearth zone and pantry.
