What was originally a crowded golden oak kitchen has now transitioned into a bright, open, and modern design. Before this remodel, homeowners Amanda and Jessica felt their kitchen was lacking in light, style, and storage. In order to get the cabinets and design they wanted, Amanda and Jessica partnered up with CliqStudios designer, Lucas McBride, to make their family’s kitchen dreams come true.

Road Blocks Along the Way

During their planning process, they spent months thinking about a kitchen layout that would suit them best. After a few contractors and trying to plan the design on their own, Amanda finally connected with Lucas. Amanda said, “He helped us for many weeks providing us with his expertise to fine-tune our design and make changes.”

Making a Brighter Change

The homeowners ended up choosing CliqStudios’ Signature line cabinets in Dayton White for the perimeter, and Harbor for the island. This created the bright and inviting atmosphere they had hoped for. Additionally, Amanda and Jessica enlarged the door leading to the dining room and gained more storage through roll-out tray pantries, drawer bases in the island, and a built-in deep refrigerator cabinet. Straightening out the walkways in their kitchen also led to improved traffic patterns.

One major aspect Lucas had to problem-solve was the kitchen island. He said, “The island was fun to create, but I also know it takes a good carpenter to create the look I was showing them in the design. They needed somewhere for the electrical outlets, so we ended up adding 3″ dishwasher return panels on each end to allow for the electrical boxes.”

He continued, “They loved that, but also thought it looked too plain. Therefore, I created a decorative side and back using 3″ fillers and a 6″ baseboard filler around the entire base. This was the part I knew would take some talking through during installation, but I was more than happy to help guide them and provide them with as much detail on how to create this look in the field. After several phone calls and a couple of emails with some installation notes, their carpenter figured it out and it turned out amazing!”

Hard Work Leading to Happiness

Although there were some hiccups during the kitchen remodel with product replacements, the homeowners were overjoyed with the result. Lucas mentioned, “Amanda and Jessica were so patient and kind throughout the entire design process, so seeing the final kitchen come to life, and to hear how happy they are with CliqStudios makes my job so satisfying! Thank you, Amanda and Jessica!”

In the end, it was partnership that created a successful project. Amanda said, “I would work with Lucas 100x over. He was kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. He had great knowledge that helped us immensely.” She ended with, “Overall, our kitchen was designed and executed beyond what we imagined. It is truly the heart of our home and brought the entire house together. We cannot wait to enjoy our new kitchen for years to come.”
