The Property Brothers & Cindy Crawford Create a Modern Home Retreat

CliqStudios was recently featured in yet another episode of The Property Brothers Celebrity IOU series. This time, Cindy Crawford was on a mission to give back to her long-time friend and personal trainer, Sarah. When Sarah’s husband was diagnosed with cancer, her family put buying a house on the back burner to make sure he was taken care of. This meant when it finally came to buying a house, there was no money left for renovations. That’s where Cindy comes in.

Over 17 years, Sarah and Cindy have been involved in each other’s lives; ups and downs, and everything in between. Cindy decided to step in and give her friends the updated dream home they’ve always wanted. With the help of the Property Brothers, and some sneaky planning, they partnered to create a beautifully updated space before Sarah and her family moved in.

When Jonathan and Drew Scott arrived, they found an outdated home with golden oak cabinetry and a cramped layout. They decided to remove the laundry room and swapped the window and sliding glass doors for a more open, spacious layout. This provided much-needed storage in the kitchen and a more streamlined traffic pattern for the home. CliqStudios designer, Delaney Englert, spoke about what the design process looked like. “The starting layout was quite simple. I just needed to work within the walls, windows, and appliance locations that were given. Otherwise, I had free reign to think of something unique”.

Cindy and The Property Brothers chose the Lenox door style in Fossil and Indigo. This created a warm environment while adding a pop of color to the island. Delaney mentioned, “Working with the show, they were great at asking questions on what we could do and even asked for my own input on color choices and what may look best. So a real collaboration.” Quartz waterfall countertops and a slab backsplash only enhanced the space making it chic and easy to clean. Complimenting quartz veneer was also added to a contemporary range hood making the kitchen even more modern.

Floating shelves, abstract art, and gold hardware brought a decorative and distinctive touch as well. To complete the space, a velvet gray upholstered bench seat was built into the back of the island maximizing space for the dining room. This feature created a completely custom look and a cozy eat-in kitchen. Speaking about the final design, Delaney said, “Overall it is really cool to see a design I got to be creative with, within the parameters I was given”.
