Take a Break with the Break in the Tide Shawl – Knitting

Tif Neilan’s A Break in the Tide Shawl looks more complicated than it is.

It looks like blocks of brioche and Garter Stitch, but instead of brioche it’s actually Fisherman’s Rib, an alternative that gives a similar look but is easier and faster for a lot of people to knit. Once you get the hang of it, it’s repetitive and relaxing.

The shawl is worked from the bottom up with the bind off on the long edge at the top.

The tasseled corner is a nice touch but totally optional if you’re not into tassels or don’t have any extra yarn.

You can buy the pattern on Ravelry or on Tif Handknits.
