This classic homemade candy is not only yummy, it’s a great first science project for the kids.
This brings waves of nostalgia for me. I remember there being a little shop in one of my city’s tourist destinations that I always had to stop to get my favourite mint-flavoured rock candy as a kid, and then in middle school and I decided to do a project on rock candy and I had to present it in our science fair. I gave out samples of rock candy to all the fair attendees, and it was just so fun.
I always thought of candy as a foreign concept, but it really is so simple to make; not much to it. You just need a little patience to let those crystals grow.
Make it in any colour and basically any flavour you can think of.
