35 + Bath And Body Recipes That Will Help You Sleep – Bath and Body

I am a sufferer of Insomnia, I struggle to fall asleep even though I can be extremely tired. The worst part is I need around 8 to 9 hours of sleep a night to be able to function well enough to get the kids to school, clean work, and cook dinner. I am not normally a morning person, but obviously having children forces me out of bed by 6 am most days and weekends are not much better for sleeping due to school sports.

The other issue I have is I am a very light sleeper, I can hear someone flick a light switch on from the other end of the house.  So I try and manage my sleep issues from as many different angles as I can. I try and shower and bathe using Lavender when I can, I have lavender lotion and sleeping spray to spray my pillow on the rough nights. I do not use all of these homemade remedies for sleep all the time, I like to mix and match and spread them out over the week. I am worried I will become immune to their sleeping benefits so if I use chamomile oil

one night I won’t use it the next.  If I have gone a few days without sleeping well then I use a Melatonin Gummy or I use Doxyalamine an over-the-counter sleep aid. I only take around 5mg though as that is enough for me to get off to sleep.

Lavender essential oil is the most commonly used for helping to promote deep sleep and settle children and babies into a sleep pattern also, but there are lesser-known oils and ingredients that can help you too. Such as vetiver essential oil.

The main trick to a healthy night’s sleep is routine. You need to find a set routine that doesn’t involve a screen, I know that sounds hard, but try finding a new way to relax. Maybe a podcast, radio, or of course reading a book. Yes, a good old-fashioned book to relax you and help you fall to sleep at night.

All of these recipes below are for helping to deliver essential oils to your body that will in turn promote sleep and relaxation.
