YSL Rouge Vermillon (4) Rouge Pur Couture SPF15 LipstickYSL Rouge Vermillon (4) Rouge Pur Couture SPF15 Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a brighter, medium plum with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without tugging during application.
The consistency was lightweight, thin but not clingy, and creamy without being too slippery. It stayed on well for four and a half hours and felt hydrating over time.

The formula is supposed to have “rich color with intense hydration … in just one stroke.” The lipstick has moderate slip–some shades are fairly emollient and can feel slippery during wear, while many are creamy but adhere well enough.
I’ve found that more mid-tone and deeper shades have better applications with smoother, more forgiving color that was semi-opaque or higher in coverage. Some of the lighter and the very deepest shades were more prone to settling into lip lines or yielding more medium to semi-opaque coverage.
The wear ranged from four to six hours on average. I found the formula was usually on the hydrating side. There was a sweet, floral scent with a very subtle taste, though I felt like it sometimes gave me a taste and other times, I didn’t notice anything.

It had nearly opaque color payoff that applied well to my lips with a smooth, even lay down of color that never dragged during application.
The lipstick had a lightly creamy consistency that was thinner (but not clingy), lightweight, and had some slip but didn’t feel too slippery. It lasted well for five hours, left a stain behind, and felt moisturizing while worn.

It had opaque color coverage in a single stroke, which adhered evenly and smoothly to my lips.
The texture felt lightly creamy, smooth, and lightweight without being too slippery, though there was a smidgen of product visible in my deeper lip lines in the close-up photo–not enough to be noticeable in person, though. It wore nicely for four and a half hours and felt hydrating while worn.
