YSL Red Urge (306) The Slim Velvet Radical Matte Lipstick ($39.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a medium-dark orange-red with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly and comfortably across my lips in a fluid motion.
The texture was lightweight, smooth, and more velvety, which gave it a denser (though not thick or heavy) feel when initially applied. It stayed on well for six hours, left a faint stain behind, and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

The formula is supposed to have “full coverage” with “long-lasting semi-matte color” that has “creamy comfort.” They were very pigmented with a moderately dense, velvety consistency that was creamy without sliding around. The substance/density of the product helped the product sit more smoothly on my lips and helped them be less prone to emphasizing lip texture and settling into my lip lines.
The lipsticks were comfortable to apply, and while the diamond-shaped lipstick was unusual, I did not find it difficult to work with. Most shades lasted at least five hours with some shades lasting six to seven hours with some staining behind. The formula felt lightly hydrating over time. They had a fruity, floral scent but no discernible taste.

YSL Fiery Spice (307) The Slim Velvet Radical Matte Lipstick ($39.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a deep red with warmer undertones and a semi-matte finish. It was richly pigmented with color that applied evenly on my lips and was forgiving of lip texture and lip lines.
The consistency felt more velvety and glided on without feeling traditionally creamy/wet. It wore nicely for six and a half hours, left a slight stain behind, and was lightly hydrating over time.
