Natasha Denona Macro Tech Eye Crayons Reviews & Swatches

Burgundy

Natasha Denona Burgundy Macro Tech Eye CrayonNatasha Denona Burgundy Macro Tech Eye Crayon ($24.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a deep plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was almost too creamy, as the pencil tip tended to smush a bit from pressure, but it was less of an issue when I worked with it on my lower lash line (which is more delicate than my arm!).

It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly and smoothly across my skin. The dry down time was a little longer than average, so it was very blendable and smudgeable, though it pulled into a fine line or two so I had to go back and fix that. Once it set, I didn’t have that issue crop up again. The eyeliner lasted well for nine hours before looking visibly thinner to my eye, which was far from 24-hours as marketed.

Formula Overview

$24.00/0.04 oz. – $600.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have “full payoff” with a “soft, creamy glide” that is waterproof. The brand does make the claim that they are “[l]ongwearing and smudge free, with no transfer properties for 24 hour perfection. The shades initially released were pigmented–mostly opaque to fully opaque in a single stroke–and had very smooth, creamy consistencies that took longer to dry down.

The benefit of a longer dry down was that they were very easy to apply, blend, and smudge as desired. I found that with some foundations, like more luminous ones, the eyeliner could spread a bit as it was drying down so I had go back in and soften the edge. Once it dried down, it didn’t keep doing that, though.

They were longer-wearing with thinning become apparent after nine-hours wear, but they definitely didn’t come close to 24-hour wear. The longest-wearing eyeliners for me tend to go between 12 and 14 hours.

Brown

Natasha Denona Brown Macro Tech Eye CrayonNatasha Denona Brown Macro Tech Eye Crayon ($24.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium-dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage that was easily built up to full coverage.

The texture was very creamy, smooth, and emollient, which gave it a longer play time for blending and smudging, though it crept into my fine lines whenever I was wearing a dewier base. I was able to go back and erase/blend back out, and I didn’t have the issue continue on during wear. This shade wore well for nine hours before looking thinner and slightly faded, though it was marketed as having 24-hour wear (sigh!).

Black

Natasha Denona Black Macro Tech Eye CrayonNatasha Denona Black Macro Tech Eye Crayon ($24.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a rich black with neutral undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single stroke, which was easily opaque by layering or as seen in person, given its utility as a thin line.

The texture was very creamy, smooth, and had moderate slip, so it took a little longer to set, which made it a more smudgeable formula but I had to ensure I wasn’t pairing it with a more luminous foundation or else I had some migration as it was drying down. I was able to diffuse/blend out the line as it was drying down and then didn’t have further issues with it migrating. The eyeliner thinned/faded a little after nine hours of wear… which was not even close to 24-hours of wear.
