Natasha Denona Glam (Light) Face Palette Review & Swatches

Glam (Light)

Natasha Denona Glam (Light) Face PaletteNatasha Denona Glam (Light) Face Palette ($59.00 for 0.45 oz.) is a new (seemingly permanent) cheek and eye palette. It includes a cream blush, powder highlighter, and five eyeshadows (three mattes, two shimmers). Overall, everything was easy enough to work with — pigmented, blendable eyeshadows with the two shimmers being more prone to fallout during application, while the highlighter was superb.

The issue I had was with the texture of the cream blush, which felt more like a dried-out cream blush than a cream blush, so it was difficult to pick up product and made it harder to work with on top of other products in particular.

Glam Light (412KS)

Glam Light (412KS) is a bright, golden peach with warmer undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The texture was drier to the touch compared to most of the brand’s shimmer eyeshadows–and it was a new finish–but still very finely-milled and smooth to the touch.

I found it was more prone to fallout, though, so it was best applied with a dampened brush if one doesn’t want fallout but had full coverage and a smooth application applied with a dry brush or fingertip. It wore well for nine hours before fading a bit and had light fallout over time.

Glam Light (413CM)

Glam Light (413CM) is a light, rosy brown with muted, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out effortlessly. The texture was smooth, velvety, and soft with minimal powderiness in the pan. It lasted nicely for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview

The majority of the brand’s eyeshadows are quite pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The eyeshadows have improved over time, particularly with respect to longevity (without a primer). The original formula often creased on me within seven to eight hours, whereas the more current formula wears eight to nine hours with fading (instead of full-on creasing). The more matte finishes tend to be a bit more velvety, substantial, and less dry/powdery compared to prior iterations.

The metallic finish is often the creamiest, slightly denser in feel, but has excellent pigmentation, adhesion, and blendability. The sparkling shades can have some fallout, depending on how they’re applied and how sparkly they are, so they sometimes work better with fingertips or a dampened brush; they can also run sheerer compared to other finishes.

Cream-Powders are the more unique formulation and tend to have firmer, almost stiff, consistencies and more semi-opaque, watercolor-esque coverage. They are longer-wearing, but they can take a few uses to learn how to use. This formula has also improved compared to when it first debuted–it is a bit more yielding now.

Glam Light (414CM)

Glam Light (414CM) is a medium, yellowy brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth to the touch, finely-milled and blendable without being too firmly nor too loosely-pressed into the pan. It had full color coverage that stayed on well for nine hours before fading a bit.

Glam Light (415KS)

Glam Light (415KS) is a bright, lighter rosy copper with moderate, warm undertones and an intense, sparkly shine. It had opaque color payoff paired with a smooth, finely-milled texture that was slightly drier/thinner with less glide compared to the typical shimmer from the brand. I found that while it looked beautiful on, it was a lot more prone to fallout, so doing eyes first or using it damp would be necessary to cure it. This shade wore well for nine hours with light fallout over time.

Glam Light (416CM)

Glam Light (416CM) is a medium-dark brown with moderate, warm undertones that leaned slightly redder than orange/yellow paired with a matte finish. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented, while the texture was soft, blendable, and smooth without being too powdery, so it was easy to work with. It lasted well for nine hours before fading noticeably.

Glam Light (Cream Blush)

Glam Light (Cream Blush) is a bright, deeper reddish-coral with barely-there gold micro-sparkle over a matte finish. It was incredibly dense, almost stiff and dried out to the touch. I tried to really work the top layer to get to fresher product, but the texture was a lot drier than I’ve seen from the brand in their past cream blush releases.

I roughly swirled a brush through the pan, and I was able to get sheer to semi-sheer coverage, which was buildable to medium coverage. With a fingertip, I was able to get medium coverage, but the formula wasn’t as spreadable as it needed to be to avoid unevenness during application (and it was very prone to lifting up base products with fingertip application). It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Glam Light (Star Glow)

Glam Light (Star Glow) is a light-medium, peachy gold with strong, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. It had mostly opaque, buildable color payoff with a smooth, finely-milled consistency that felt almost wet to the touch it was that smooth. The highlighter applied evenly to bare skin, blended out well, and didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. This shade showed signs of fading after eight and a half hours of wear.
