Chocolat Divin

Laura Mercier Chocolat Divin Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème LipstickLaura Mercier Chocolat Divin Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, deeper brown with subtle, warm undertones and a lightly glossy finish. It looked glossier than it felt, as it was still more of a thin, lightweight consistency that had a velvety glide rather than creamy, more emollient slip.

It had mostly opaque color coverage that applied evenly and lasted well for five hours. The formula felt lightly hydrating while worn.

Formula Overview

$32.00/0.12 oz. – $266.67 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have “high-impact color” with “weightless decadence” that “moisturizes and smooths.” The pigmentation was nearly opaque to opaque in a single layer, which applied smoothly and without tugging. The texture was lightly creamy but more velvety overall, so it glided easily over my lips but didn’t feel overly slippery.

The issue I had was that the formula didn’t seem particularly forgiving of natural lip texture or imperfections, so despite exfoliating prior to application, there were areas highlighted that I didn’t expect to see since the formula was supposed to be smoothing. It also settled a bit into deeper lip lines, which was more noticeable (in person, not just in the close-up photos) with lighter shades than brighter or deeper tones. They lasted between four and six hours on me and felt lightly hydrating.

Coral Nu

Laura Mercier Coral Nu Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème LipstickLaura Mercier Coral Nu Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy coral with strong, warm undertones and a satin finish. It appeared brighter when swatched than it did applied to my lips. The texture was lightweight, thin, and velvety, but it seemed to break up and separate more noticeably on my lips, particularly along my lip lines and any minor imperfections in lip texture (and I exfoliated prior to applying it!).

It had semi-opaque color payoff that could be built up slightly. It wore decently for three hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Coral Clair

Laura Mercier Coral Clair Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème LipstickLaura Mercier Coral Clair Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light, peachy coral with moderate, warm undertones and a satin finish. The texture was smooth, lightweight, and thin, which helped it have a velvety glide across my lips and did not feel clingy.

It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation, which could have applied a little more evenly. There was a touch of product that settled into my deeper lip lines, though it wasn’t noticeable in person until a few hours into wear. This shade stayed on well for four hours and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.
