Sugar Snap

ColourPop Sugar Snap Glossy Lip Stain ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy brown with warmer undertones and a glossy finish. It had semi-sheer pigmentation, which was buildable to medium coverage with a second layer.

The texture was thin, somewhat watery, but it was more prone to clinging to my lips, which was different than other shades. As a result, it emphasized the texture of my lips more than other shades as well. This had a subtle, reddish stain after a few hours of wear but it was very minimal and disappeared quickly, so the product lasted around four hours overall.

It’s supposed to have the “long-lasting powers of a lip stain” with the “shine of a gloss” paired with “medium to buildable coverage” that is “non-drying.” The initial texture was almost watery, overly spreadable (and the applicator often picked up more product than necessary, so take care during application) but dried down to a more satiny shine that was less glossy and more like a satin lipstick with some translucency.

The initial shine wore off within two hours, so it looked like a true satin finish–this was true of doing nothing or just taking a drink of a glass as it wasn’t transfer-resistant. The stain did not power through a meal and tended to leave a very strong ring around the edges of my lips as it wore away so quickly while eating. Left to its own devices, most shades wore around six hours with a faint stain left behind.

It had medium, buildable coverage but quickly built to more semi-opaque coverage without an official second layer (just going back and forth to get an even layer of product). A couple of shades were truer to medium and others were more semi-opaque from the first layer.

There didn’t seem to be any added fragrance nor taste while worn.

Ice Pop

ColourPop Ice Pop Glossy Lip Stain ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a medium pink with warm undertones that turned brighter and leaned slightly pinker when applied and left to “set” slightly. The texture was lightweight, spreadable, and thin without being too watery, but it was more prone to streaking and getting into my lip lines as it set slightly (and then felt lightly tacky and a touch thicker). It had medium, buildable color coverage that lasted well for four and a half hours, while the stain lingered for an additional hour or so but didn’t make it through a meal.
