ColourPop High Tide Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

[ad_1]

High Tide

ColourPop High Tide 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.32 oz.) is an aqua and teal-themed color story that included six matte shades (or mostly matte shades!) and three shimmer shades. All nine shades were semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, fairly blendable, and easy enough to work with.

Just a Splash

Just a Splash is pale, greenish-aqua with warm undertones and flecks of pink sparkle over a matte finish. The sparkles did not translate much into the look, but they contributed to noticeable fallout during application. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that was more prone to sheering out due to the moderately powdery texture. This shade lasted decently for seven hours before fading visibly.

$4.50/0.05 oz. – $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Currents

Currents is a brighter, medium-dark aqua that leaned green, which gave it a slightly warmer tone, and had a matte finish. It had was richly pigmented with a smooth, blendable texture that had some substance to it, so while there was some powderiness in the pan, it wasn’t prone to sheering out during application. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Free Floatin’

Free Floatin’ is a very light, greenish-aqua with warmer, lighter gold shimmer and a metallic finish. It had rich pigmentation with a smooth, moderately emollient texture that wasn’t too firmly-pressed into the pan and picked up well with a brush. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before showing signs of wear.

Urchin

Urchin is a medium-dark, dusty blue with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth, blendable, and only lightly powdery (mostly present in the pan). It had opaque color coverage that lasted nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Must Sea

Must Sea is a brighter, bluish-aqua base with warmer, green-to-gold shifting shimmer and a metallic finish. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented, while the consistency was smooth, moderately dense and lightly emollient without being overly thick. It wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Flora

Flora is a dusty, light bluish-aqua with cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture was somewhat powdery, so I would take care for fallout, but the pigmentation was opaque and the product itself blended out well. It stayed on nicely for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

Mussel Beach

Mussel Beach has a blackened-brown base with lighter, green-to-blue shifting shimmer. The texture was more emollient, which helped it apply better with a fingertip or a dampened brush. I also would recommend pressing it into place and going in with a lighter hand to blend it out or else it tended to get pushed around a bit. It had nearly opaque color coverage that lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

New Wave

New Wave is a brighter, medium teal with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well. The texture was somewhat powdery, which contributed to its sheerness, but it had minimal fallout. This shade showed signs of fading after eight hours of wear.

Lunar

Lunar is a deep teal with subtle, cool undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had opaque color coverage paired with a slightly firmer, thinner texture, though it picked up well with a brush and retained its coverage when applied to bare skin. The edges took a little more effort to diffuse but was doable without sitting there for hours! It stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.
