ColourPop Fine Feathered Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Fine Feathered

ColourPop Fine Feathered 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a pink and berry-hued color story with two shimmer shades and the rest mattes (or nearly matte). For someone looking for a more monochromatic story that is driven by matte finishes, this might be appealing; it could also worked paired with rosier palettes one already has to offer some deeper/richer mattes. Most shades were pigmented, but some of those vivid mattes were a little more work to blend out (but certainly workable–not to the point where it was truly challenging!).

Tweet Me

Tweet Me is a light pink with warmer undertones and a sparkling sheen. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a moderately emollient consistency, which helped the product bind better to bare skin, though it worked the best applied with a fingertip as a brush did not seem to pick up product evenly. This shade lasted decently for eight hours with light fallout over time.

$4.50/0.05 oz. – $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

High Flying

High Flying is a dusty, medium pink-coral with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was somewhat powdery, but it managed to retain most of its pigmentation in practice, though there was light fallout. It wore nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Of a Feather

Of a Feather is a dusty, medium-dark mauve with warmer undertones and a mostly matte finish. There were faint gold sparkles sprinkled throughout the pan, but they did not translate into anything but fallout (if they appeared, most seemed to get lost on the way). It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation due to the moderately powdery consistency that was more prone to sheering out. This shade stayed on well for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Take a Gander

Take a Gander is a brighter, medium-dark pink-coral with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich pigmentation paired with a soft, blendable texture that was somewhat powdery but wasn’t prone to sheering out and only had minimal fallout when blended. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

No Flocks

No Flocks is a medium, reddish-copper with flecks of cooler plum and copper sparkle throughout. The texture was more loosely-pressed and chunkier, which resulted in more uneven application of the eyeshadow, sheerer coverage, and a moderate amount of fallout when applied and blended out. I’d recommend applying it with a fingertip or a dampened brush. It wore decently for seven hours on me.

Goose Chase

Goose Chase is a bright, medium-dark berry with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation with a slightly drier, thin consistency, but it applied evenly and blended out without much effort. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading and left a stain behind.

Nest Egg

Nest Egg is a deep red with cooler undertones and a matte finish. The texture was slightly drier to the touch, but it was blendable and not too powdery nor too firmly-pressed into the pan, so it picked up well and applied evenly to bare skin. It had rich color coverage that lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading, though it left a stain behind.

Hen Party

Hen Party is a medium-dark, pinky-red with cool, blue undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied fairly evenly to bare skin and blended out with only light effort but could have been easier to work with. I would recommend using it over a primer as it seemed to be easier to blend out that way. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours and left a stain behind.

Tell Tail

Tell Tail is a deep, slightly reddened plum with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque color coverage that was easily buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer. The texture was slightly drier and thinner, though it applied fairly evenly and wasn’t too much effort to blend out. This shade stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.
