ColourPop Feelin’ Coconutty Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches

[ad_1]

Feelin’ Coconutty

ColourPop Feelin’ Coconutty Pressed Powder Shadow Quad ($9.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new, limited edition neutral-hued color story that included one true matte, two sparkle mattes, and one shimmer shade. As expected, the sparkly mattes had some fallout and tended to be more powdery than the true matte, so this would definitely better suit someone who does not mind some fallout during application.

Coco Wild

Coco Wild is a light, white gold with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The texture was more loosely-pressed in the pan, so I had to use a lighter touch to avoid fallout and excess product kicked up in the pan. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation that applied evenly and lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview

$4.50/0.05 oz. – $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Vacay

Vacay is a pale, yellowed beige with muted, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. There were loose sparkles throughout the pan, which resulted mostly in fallout rather than anything noticeable on the lid. It had rich pigmentation, but the texture was somewhat powdery, so there was light fallout and a tendency for it to sheer out a bit. This shade showed signs of fading after seven hours of wear.

Palm Tree

Palm Tree is a muted, medium brown with subtle, rosy undertones and a matte finish with sparkles throughout. Those sparkles did not add much to the end result, as they resulted in fallout during application. The consistency was soft, moderately powdery and prone to sheering out with light fallout as well. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Nuts 4 U

Nuts 4 U is a dark, smoky taupe with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a thinner, slightly firmer texture, which was out of sync with most of the brand’s matte eyeshadows these days. Thankfully, I didn’t have issues blending out this shade on my lid. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.
