ColourPop Digital Playground Palette Review & Swatches

[ad_1]

Digital Playground

ColourPop Digital Playground 5-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($10.00 for 0.15 oz.) includes three matte shades and two shimmers in a coral and fuchsia-themed color story. The shimmers were a little drier than typical for the brand, while the mattes were as expected–a little powdery but pigmented, blendable, and easy enough to work with.

Juicy

Juicy is a bright, light-medium coral-orange with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It was somewhat powdery in the pan, but it maintained its full color coverage when applied to bare skin and blended out. It wore nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing.” The way the Pressed Pigments differ is that they’re not intended for usage on the immediate eye area.

The majority of the shades are semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, blend out fairly well, and can sometimes be a bit drier/more powdery compared to typical matte shades. They often wear eight to nine hours on me before fading, but many shades in the Pressed Pigment family leave some staining behind.

Love and Warhol (Digital Playground)

Love and Warhol (Digital Playground) is a deeper fuchsia pink with subtle, cool undertones and sparkles over a more matte finish. It had rich pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well, though the sparkles didn’t translate much (or else resulted in fallout). The texture was soft, a little powdery so I’d recommend using a lighter hand when working with it. There were signs of fading after eight and a half hours of wear, though it left a stain behind after removal.

99

99 is a light-medium pink with moderate, warm undertones and lighter, peachy-gold shimmer that gave it a frosted finish. The texture was soft, almost spongy, but it was drier and a little thicker, which made it more prone to fallout. It was easier to work with using a fingertip or a dampened brush in order to minimize fallout and get more even, opaque coverage. It lasted well for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

From Paris

From Paris is a bright, medium pink with cool, blue undertones and a frosted finish. The pigmentation was opaque, while the texture was soft, a little dusty and drier, with slight fallout during application. The eyeshadow was blendable overall, though. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Crib

Crib is a vivid, fuchsia pink with strong, cool blue undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth, finely-milled, and blendable without being too powdery nor too firmly-pressed into the pan. It had rich color coverage that stayed on nicely for nine hours before fading visibly; it did leave a stain behind after removal.
