ColourPop Cocktaoo & La Cienega Glowing Lip Review & Swatches

[ad_1]

ColourPop Cockatoo Glowing Lip ($7.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a light pink with warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had medium color payoff, which was buildable to mostly opaque coverage, though I found it was more prone to streaking along the edges at higher opacity.

The lip product had a lightweight, slightly thin feel that was more velvety in its glide, rather than traditionally creamy, despite the shine. It lasted well for three hours and felt moisturizing over time.

Formula Overview

$7.00/0.06 oz. – $116.67 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have a “glowy” finish that is hydrating and gives buildable color with “buildable, glowy shine.” They managed to feel more velvety and glide-on rather than melty and glossy, despite the end result having a moderate about of shine and glow. As a result, the formula was more like a balmy lipstick than a glossy lip balm.

The coverage ranged from semi-sheer to semi-opaque but were generally in the more medium, buildable range, which was in line with the brand’s marketing. They were fruity in scent but had no discernible taste. The shades applied evenly, felt comfortable to wear, and typically lasted three to four hours with moderate hydrating.

ColourPop La Cienega Glowing Lip ($7.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium pink with warmer undertones and a glossy sheen. It had semi-sheer, buildable color coverage that applied evenly and comfortably over my lips as the texture had a silicone-like glide that slid across my lips but wasn’t traditionally creamy/wet in feel, despite having a shinier finish. It wore well for three and a half hours and felt hydrating.
